This addition to Flor de Caña’s Centenario collection showcases the Nicaraguan distillery’s carbon-neutral, and fair trade certification! The sustainably produced rum is distilled using 100% renewable energy and matured in bourbon barrels, and it comes housed in a bottle and box made from recycled materials. Flor de Caña has planted 50,000 trees annually since 2005 in order to offset any emissions, so this is a splendid choice for an environmentally conscious rum connoisseur.
Tasting Notes:
Color – Intense copper
Aroma – Nutmeg, Jamaican pepper and hazelnut all seem to mix into a nice
Palate – It has an opulent entry, on its way to a viscous palate, dry, full-bodied with a taste of dark chocolate, caramel, toasted nuts and dark spices.
Finish – The finish is long and of burnt oak, vanilla and toasted nuts.
