Description
Henricius Melcher, the pioneering figure behind the company, was officially registered as a chartered brandy distiller in Uerdingen as far back as 1743. In the 19th century, his successor established extensive connections throughout Europe, particularly with vintners in the renowned French wine region of Charente. Among the notable suppliers was the Dujardin family, who eventually formed a joint venture with the Melcher family. This collaboration resulted in a perfect fusion of French winemaking tradition and German distillation expertise. The acclaimed outcome of this partnership is the aged brandy Dujardin VSOP, esteemed for its exceptional quality. During its maturation in small Limousin oak barrels, Dujardin develops a rich bouquet and a smooth, flavorful taste. It exudes aromas of sweet honey, orange zest, and clove spice, offering a remarkably mellow and rounded palate with a hint of warmth in the finish.
