Product details
Crafted by the master blender, Charles H Julian, the Royal Salute was introduced in 1953 to honor the newly crowned Queen Elizabeth II. Containing exceptionally rare and outstanding whisky, this collector's item is a must-have. The Chivas Royal Salute 21 Year Old undergoes a 21-year maturation process in oak barrels, resulting in a traditional whisky boasting a exquisitely refined flavor and a robust, full-bodied character. The Royal Salute pays homage to Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, during which she adorned a crown adorned with multicolored jewels, inspiring the vibrant hues of these distinctive porcelain flagons. Chivas Brothers launched their initial Chivas Regal blend in 1909, establishing it as a premium brand that quickly gained popularity in the US. Although Prohibition temporarily halted its success a decade later, it also paved the way for Canadian distillers Seagram to become the largest drinks company in North America. Seagram promptly targeted Chivas Brothers upon entering the Scotch market, acquiring the company in 1949 and adding Strathisla to its portfolio. They went on to establish three additional distilleries. Over the years, Seagram also acquired the assets of Campbell Distillers and The Glenlivet Distillers, solidifying its position as one of the major whisky companies in Scotland. The Seagram empire eventually collapsed in the early 2000s, with Pernod-Ricard acquiring Chivas Brothers, along with Allied Domecq in a separate acquisition, bringing the Ballantine's brand into the fold. Chivas now produces two of the top three selling blends globally, and its distillery portfolio, led by Glenlivet, is second only to that of Diageo.
