Nikka builds this whisky from around 100 iterations of Coffey Still malt and grain whiskies drawn from the renowned Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. After the traditional marriage period, the spirit continues to mature in Hogshead casks, gaining deeper richness, complexity, and concentration. Bottled at barrel strength, it showcases the craftsmanship first envisioned in 1985 by Takeshi Taketsuru, nephew of the legendary Masataka Taketsuru.

The result is a whisky that displays impressive depth on both nose and palate. Layers of butterscotch, vanilla, caramel, and dried fruit unfold alongside orchard fruit, cinnamon, clove, and subtle smoke.
